Total savings per year (net)KiwiSaver
Total savings per year (net)The calculator is a tool to calculate your contribution and your employer's contribution to your chosen superannuation scheme. While the tool provides flexibility for you to consider your options, some constraints imposed by the schemes should be factored in:
- KiwiSaver employer contributions are fixed at 3%.
- UniSaver employer contributions range between 4.05% and 6.75% depending on your contribution.
- KiwiSaver employee contribution options are limited to 3%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%. UniSaver has more flexible contribution options.
- Your minimum contribution to UniSaver may increase to 4% of your salary if your employer is not contributing at least 1% of your salary. This could occur if your employer is already contributing to a KiwiSaver scheme on your behalf.
- To join the locked section, you must be aged 18 years or over and either a New Zealand citizen or entitled to live in New Zealand indefinitely. This is in order to meet the government’s eligibility criteria for government contributions.
- For simplicity, the calculator rounds the percentage your employer contributes to UniSaver to 2 decimal places. The actual percentage may be 0.005% lower.
- The calculator is provided for information purposes only. If there is any ambiguity or discrepancy between this calculator and UniSaver’s trust deed, the trust deed will be the final authority.
