We can accept transfers into UniSaver from another superannuation scheme in some circumstances. For example, we can accept transfers from registered superannuation schemes in New Zealand, including complying superannuation funds, but not KiwiSaver schemes. We cannot accept transfers from Australian superannuation schemes or UK pension plans.
The transfer must be made by your old scheme. You can’t withdraw the money and then deposit it with UniSaver. This rule is to comply with our exemption from some of the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.
If you want to transfer your benefits from another scheme into UniSaver, we suggest you call the helpline before you do anything. They’ll tell you whether a transfer is possible and help you through the process.
